I play mostly for the wi-fi battles, but then again I haven't done that in Gen V yet since I can't handle all the new stuff lol, I haven't even beaten half the gyms yet.
Also waiting for the inevitable Pokemon Grey-or-something-like-that version coming up xD

Tee hee. Competitive play is fun. Gen 5 is too awesomesauce. The evolving metagame is cool. Gen 5 Metagame involves much strategy with weather

Pretty sure weather's always been a part of strategy, though? =)) Automatic sandstorm by switching in Tyranitar is something I tend to do when the situation seems right for it.
Gen V has the most ridiculous Pokemon designs, though ;u; Why is there living ice cream and why are there alien bodybuilders attached to clouds? lmao srsly

Eh. You'll get used to it. Thundurus is kinda cool if you get used to it. Actually, with Excadrill in the metagame... it became even more popular. So weather counters became popular too with the introduction of perma-sun and perma-rain through DW Ninetails and Politoad respectively. A lot of strategy in work now with all these new game breakers. Conkeldurr the bulky cannon. Excadrill the speedy, bulky, and deadly drill. Haxorus the definite physical glass cannon. Must I continue. Also these gimmicks... Whimsicott >.>

Tons? you sure? I haven't seen anyone else but you and I who talk about battles and strategies.

Evidently, I don't play that much Gen V. xD I need to get updated. My current team's obsolete now ;u;
Didn't think Drilbur would evolve into a useful pokemon, though =)). I had it on my party for a while but then it didn't really seem all that great, so I replaced it with Solosis since it was cute I felt that I'd need Light Screen and Reflect to make up for the lack of defense my party got after losing Drilbur. It's Sp.Atk also looks good, but it's kinda slow... Don't have Trick Room yet, though )
How's Hydreigon though, compared to Garchomp? I have a Garchomp in my party as one of my sweepers and it's what helped me win most of the time back in Gen IV.

Garchomp has been banned to the ubers. He was one of the best dragons in OU. Hydreigon is slow but packs a punch. He can do pretty well since he's one of the few special attk dragons

Hydreigon may be good with SP. Atk but I prefer a Haxorus, it's faster and has very high atk, also learns outrage, which you an seriously stack damage on, with the STAB boost, Item Boost (if you want to risk a switch out, then give him a choice item, this can also make up for the mediocre speed it has if you give it scarf)

Isn't Hydreigon faster than Haxorus by like 1 stat point. Haxorus is a bit more frail afaik. But depends on the fighting style and need.

right, right must've forgotten Hydreigon had trollish speed, and yea, they somewhat serve the same purpose actually, not much else to do for them, and Hydreigon's typing makes him frail in my book, especially his weakness to fighting, very troublesome in OU
